What size planters work best with the 10" × 10" Twin Pack?
The 10" x 10" Twin Pack is ideal for 10 inch plant pots and other medium-size containers, both indoors and out. Use it in decorative planters, patio pots or larger houseplants.
Can I cut the 10" × 10" container drainage squares to fit other planter sizes?
Yes! The flexible mesh can be trimmed to fit any container. Use left over pieces in small pots or layer them for added drainage support. We recommend these gardening shears available at Fiskars' website.
How many squares should I use in a 10 inch pot?
One to two layers is usually enough for a 10 inch pot. For medium-sized outdoor planters, especially those used for annual flowers or seasonal plants, you’ll get the best results with two to four layers, filling roughly one-third of the container. For year-round plants or permanent planters, one layer is often enough to maintain drainage without taking up too much space for soil and roots.
How thick is each square?
Each square in the pack has a 1.5-inch profile, offering a lightweight but sturdy base that helps create an air pocket beneath the soil in the container for improved water flow and root health.
